Lexington, KY – On Wednesday (Aug. 6), The Red Mile conducted two cards of contests due to an intense thunderstorm in the area. Endurance collected his fourth consecutive victory in the second round of the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series. The 14-race card also included three $30,000 second round Kentucky Commonwealth Series legs, three $15,000 second round divisions of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and two $10,000 second round legs of the Kentucky Wildcat Series. All events were for 2-year-old male trotters.
Endurance outlasts his foes in Championship Series

Endurance (Andrew McCarthy) assumed control from the beginning of this contest in 1:53.1 over Silverstein (David Miller) for trainer Christopher Beaver. Lindy Living (Yannick Gingras) crossed the wire in third.
Leaving from post position five in the field of nine, the son of Captain Corey-Love Session set fractions of :28.4, :57.2 and 1:25.3 while Silverstein gave chase in second the entire mile while Lindy Living closed from seventh at the three-quarter pole.
Endurance simply had too much on this day.
Bred by Steve Stewart and Martti Ala-Seppala, the colt’s record is now 5-4-0-0 and he has earned $153,200.
Endurance is the third foal out of his dam and was a $14,000 purchase for his trainer, Bill Manes, Leo Fleming and Mark Moger. His dam (Muscle Massive, $28,643) is a half sibling to Triumphant Caviar (SJ’s Caviar, $796,794), Prayer Session (Like A Prayer, $775,605), Theatrical Session (Broadway Hall, $192,620) and Centurion ATM (SJ’s Caviar, $728,894).
The colt paid $3.40 to win as the favorite.
Inexpressable, Onassis, San Patricio win Commonwealth Series events
Scott Zeron and Inexpressable hit the finish line in 1:56 for Lucas Wallin. Gorilla Sighting (A. McCarthy) was second and An Honest Buck (Tim Tetrick) nabbed the show spot.
Bred by Menhammar Stuteri Ab and S R F Stable, Inexpressable is by Walner and out of Ineffable. He broke his maiden in his second start.
The colt is owned by his trainer and Karin Walter-Mommert. Inexpressable was a $325,000 purchase at last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. His granddam is world champion Joelene Joelene (Muscle Hill, $231,673). Inexpressable paid $2.96 to win as the public’s top selection.
Onassis (Gingras) trotted to the second victory of his career in 1:55.2 for conditioner Nancy Takter over Nicholson (Dexter Dunn) and favored Nofreak Volo (Tetrick).
The son of Greenshoe-Sherrys Lady was bred by Coyote Wynd Farms and was purchased under the name The Green Hornet for $130,000 at last year’s Standardbred Horse Sale by Melco Devin Inc., Joe Sbrocco and Jaf Racing.
The colt is a half sibling to Once In A Lifetime (Father Patrick, $720,137) Onassis proved $7.82 to win as the third choice in the field of seven.
After a drop in class from the Championship Series, San Patricio returned to the winner’s circle with Tetrick holding the lines for John Butenschoen in a lifetime best 1:55. Imperative (A. McCarthy) was second and Negotiation (Austin Hanners) completed the trifecta.
The son of Swan For All-Kikoura was bred by Tony Holmes and Walter Zent. The gelding was sold privately with June Zent and Timothy Thornton joining his breeders in ownership.
San Patricio paid $3.68 at the windows.
Midwind Chimp, Deuce Pop, Captain Naughty win Golden Series legs Mattias Melander steered Midwind Chimp to the wire in the first of three Golden Rod series divisions for trainer Marcus Melander in 1:56.4.
The son of Gimpanzee-Boccone Dolce was bred by Midwind Farms and is owned by S R F Stables.
He paid $10.34 to win.
Favored Deuce Pop (Todd McCarthy) took the second division of this series in 1:55.2 for trainer Randal Jerrell. The son of Tactical Landing-Atlantic Crest paid $3.82 to win.
He was bred by Atlantic Trot Inc. and is owned by his trainer, breeder and Steve Stewart.
Captain Naughty (Dunn) won the third division of the Golden Rod in 1:56.1 for trainer Justin Lloyd.
By Captain Corey and out of Msnaughtyashill, the colt competes as a homebred for Denise Dennis.
Captain Naughty paid $4.12 to win.
Finn McCool (Andy Miller) for trainer Julie Miller and Never Say Die (Dunn) for M. Melander won the two divisions of the Wildcat Series. They paid $5.34 and $3.82.
Racing will continue through Sunday (Oct. 5), following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1:00 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet. Sunday Night Lights on Aug. 10 will feature a T-Rex event. Four races will take place between live harness racing. Here are the requirements:
· Eight-years-old and under
· Nine-years-old -13—years-old
· Any Blow-Up Costume Race (14-years-old and above)
· T-Rex Race (14-years-old and above)
This race is BYOTR. (Bring your own T-Rex). T-Rex Tails will be provided for children 8-years-old and under.
There will be plenty of other activities to enjoy including food trucks, stick horses, cornhole, a petting zoo, and more.
