A new international trotting star from Italy is on his way.

Expo Wise As is a 3-year-old colt sired by Ready Cash and trained by Alessandro Gocciadoro, who also is his regular driver. Expo Wise As was the heavy favorite in the Gran Premio Derby Italiano del Trotto at the Capannelle track outside Rome. The race had a total purse of 800,800 Euro with the winner’s share of 334,800 Euro.

Expo Wise As and Alessandro Gocciadoro took an early lead and won easily in 1:57.3f (mile rate) followed three lengths behind by Ector Francis (sired by Nad Al Sheba) with Gaetano de Nardo.

This was win number nine for Expo Wise As from 13 races and he has lifetime winnings of 492,586 Euro.

The Oaks was won by open lengths by Euphoria Jet (sired by Donato Hanover) with Mauro Biasuzzi in the bike, timed in 1:56.2f. The purse for the winner was 105,800 Euro.

In Denmark, the Dansk Trav Kriterium — also for 3-year-olds — was won handily by the favorite Just Hans (sired by Maharajah) with trainer/driver Bent Svendsen, timed in 2:00.1f (mile rate–1-9/16 mile). The purse for the winner was $80,000.
