Dover, DE — Factory Girl upset at 22-1 in the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night (Feb. 26).
Majorca N and Factory Girl left fastest off the wings of the starting gate at the start of the race. Majorca N, who won three races in a row, cleared the lead at the opening quarter in a blistering :26.1 while Factory Girl retreated to the pocket. Majorca N was loose on the lead and driver Corey Callahan was able to throttle her speed reaching the half in :56.1.
Incaseyoudidntknow, the 3-5 favorite, raced first-over up the backstretch, inching her way into contention on the outside. Majorca N marched into another gear, reaching the three-quarters in 1:24. Incaseyoudidntknow’s bid appeared to stall, Elektra A shadowed second-over on the rim, and Factory Girl was content to remain in the pocket.
Turning for home, Majorca N maintained a 1-1/2-length lead, however Factory Girl was looming large and surged up the pylons to win by a length in 1:52.

Majorca N fought hard to finish second; Incaseyoudidntknow finished third.
Victor Kirby drove Factory Girl, a daughter of Downbytheseaside, for owner Angela Cornell and trainer Scott DiDomenico.
Earlier on the card, highly touted Australian invader Ludacrous A won her second consecutive start in the United States, winning a mares conditioned pace in 1:51.4.
Thursday’s (Feb. 27) feature race is the 12th race $25,000 Open Handicap Pace. Wehadababyetzaboy, last week’s winner, takes on Itsrockandroll A, who finished second to him last week. Armada Hanover, a newcomer to the Open ranks, has won seven of his last eight races. First post is 4:30 p.m.
