Fair racing concludes at Napoleon, Ohio

Napoleon, OH — Racing concluded at the Henry County Fair in Napoleon, Ohio, on Wednesday evening (August 15) with a ten-race program. The track was in good shape with several horses picking up new lifetime marks.

Emil Konesky’s Trottin On Over (Neely Dunn-Halle Coy) started the night off by setting a new track record for 2-year-old colt trotters by trotting in 2:04.4. The old record was 2:05 by Baron Sahbra in 1999. Mark Headworth is the trainer-driver of Trottin On Over.

Three Cams (Threefold-Cammy Creed) picked up her first lifetime win in capturing the 3-year-old filly pace in 2:03. Jayne Weller is the filly’s owner-trainer-driver.

Rodney Conner steered Justlookatmymuscle (Iron Duke-Just Watch) to her initial career win in taking the 2-year-old filly trot in 2:12.2. Barbie Conner trains the filly and also co-owns her with her son Cody.

The Becky Nichols-trained Jingels N Spook (Sadies Dreamboat-Sailongtong) took the 3-year-old colt pace in 2:04.1. Nichols also co-owns the gelding with Curtis Shoup. Greg Bateson was the winning driver behind Jingels N Spook.

The next stop on the Northwestern Ohio Colt Racing Association circuit will be at the Defiance County Fair at Hicksville. Racing will take place at Hicksville on Tuesday (August 21 )and Friday (August 24) with a 6:30 p.m. post time each evening.
