Fair racing held in Oak Harbor, Ohio

Oak Harbor, OH — The Ottawa County Fair in Oak Harbor, Ohio, held a one-day meet on Monday (July 15) with a 14-race program. The card consisted of nine colt and filly stakes along with five overnight races.

Sherald Haynes steered Miko Begonia (Master Lavec-Shimma Begonia) to a new mark of 2:07.4 in capturing the 2-year-old colt trot. Haynes also trains the gelding and co-owns him with his wife Marian.

Rosemary LeVan’s Blackhawk Lookout (Look Sharp-Ashley’s Attack) took the 2-year-old colt pace with a mile in 2:06.3. Herb LeVan trains Blackhawk Lookout with Jack Dailey doing the driving.

Cookie N Ice Cream (Fortunefivehundred-Missy Chip) came home first in the 2-year-old filly trot after a mile in 2:12.2. John Payne is the filly’s owner-trainer-driver.

Jack Dailey piloted Hanky L (Stand Forever-Sheer Sahbra) to victory in the 3-year-old colt pace. Herb LeVan trains the gelding with Melissa LeVan picking up the expenses. Hanky L toured the Oak Harbor oval in 2:00.2.

Emil Konesky’s Trottin On Over (Neely Dunn-Halle Coy) was victorious in the 3-year-old colt trot with a mile in 2:03.1. Mark Headworth is the trainer-driver of Trottin On Over.

Mean Fever (Indian Fever-Mean Geraldine) remained undefeated after four starts by coming home first in the 2-year-old filly pace. Bill Webb is the filly’s owner-trainer with Mark Headworth picking up the winning catch-drive. Mean Fever’s winning time was 2:06.2.

Melissa L (Feelin Friskie-Beach Sandals) won the fastest division of the 3-year-old filly pace in 2:03.4. Herb LeVan trains the filly for owner Melissa LeVan with Jack Dailey performing the driving duties. The other split went to Lovintouchinfeelin (Feelin Friskie-Western Touch) in 2:04. Bill Webb trains Lovintouchinfeelin and also co-owns her with Denny Miller. Greg Bateson had the winning drive behind the filly.

John Konesky III guided Countonme (Full Count-Indian Hill Ruby) to the winner’s circle after a 2:09.4 winning mile in the 3-year-old filly trot. Konesky also trains the filly and co-owns her with his son Patrick.
