Fast qualifier for Artzina at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Qualifying action took place for freshman and sophomore trotters and pacers at Rosecroft Raceway on Wednesday morning (August 8), as exceptional horses sharpened their skills.

2006 Dan Patch Award winner Artzina took control of the field with a lead larger than 22 lengths. Driven by trainer Dylan Davis, the sophomore Artiscape colt was dominant through quarters of :28.2, :57 and 1:23.4, winning in a blistering 1:52.3. Kalman Liebowitz and Mark Rubach co-own the talented pacer.

Southwind Majestic, a 3-year-old Artsplace gelding owned by Only Money Inc., the Warren Racing Stable and Dylan Davis, paced second-over after swift early times of :27.4 and :58.2. Driven by trainer Dylan Davis, Southwind Majestic hit the three-quarter pole in 1:27 for the lead, winning by a more than a length in 1:55.1.

Off Parole showed early foot in a pacing event for co-owners Parent Racing Stable LLC, LeBlanc Racing Inc. and Robert Laham. The 2-year-old Artiscape colt grabbed the lead after an opening quarter of :30.1 from post seven with driver John Wagner at his lines. Taking the field through middle quarters of 1:00.1 and 1:30.2, Off Parole won by a head in 2:00.1. Trained by Steven LeBlanc, Off Parole held steady through the mile, closing with a :29.4 last quarter.

In a trotting division, Aerobic Linda won by a landslide in 2:04. The freshman daughter of Dream Vacation went gate-to-wire in :29.3, 1:02.4 and 1:32.2 for trainer-driver “Bib” Roberts to win by 20 lengths. The filly is owned by the Graham Grace Stables LLC.
