Batavia, NY — Racing resumes for the final two weekends of the 2012 season at America’s oldest lighted harness track, Batavia Downs Casino, on Friday night (Nov. 30). First race post time is 6:25 p.m.

Friday night features a mandatory payoff in the Pick-6. The Pick-6 carryover pool is $1,599 and all monies will be dispersed to whoever picks the most winners. The Pick-6 begins on race seven which has a probable post time of 7:55 p.m.

The Pick-6 wager is ending because the popular free Pick-6 contest, sponsored by the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s Association, begins on Saturday night (Dec. 1).

To play, Players Club members simply need to swipe their Players Club cards to receive a Pick-6 form that must be returned to Players Club by the start of the fourth race. The free contest consists of races 4-9. Picking all six winners is required to win or share in the $500 pool.

The race for Downs top driver and trainer honors are seemingly decided with only 48 calls to the post remaining.

Reinsman Shawn Gray holds a 14 win lead over Dan Noble. Gray has scored 123 times in 671 starts for a win percentage of 18.3 percent over Noble who has a win percentage of 21.2 percent in 513 drives. Noble was last weekend’s star making 12 winner’s circle visits.

On the trainer’s side Bobbi Jo Martin (16.7 percent) has opened up a seven win advantage over both Jim Graham (13.2 percent) and Dave McNeight, Jr. (17.3 percent), 46-39.

Jack Flanigen continues to inch closer to milestone win 4,000, now just three wins away with 3,997.
