Isle Pompano Park to debut 10% Pick-4

Pompano Beach, FL — In what is described as one of the most significant pari-mutuel developments in recent years, the Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park will debut a 10% take-out on their Pick-4 wager—by far the lowest in the industry—beginning on Monday, December 3.

John Yinger, Director of Racing, said the new low take-out will continue through the end of the racing meet. “We have a very competitive racing program,” said Yinger, “and we feel that this is a way to showcase our sport to racing fans, whether they are here at the track or at any of our 125 simulcast venues throughout North America.

“Our obligations to provide a great night of entertainment include a virtual rainbow of fun, whether it be in our casino, one of our great restaurants or enjoying the thrill of harness racing at one of America’s premier racetracks.

“We now are adding something that is ‘better for the bettor’ and hope that this leads to an increased awareness of the sport here in South Florida.”

Longtime harness racing fan Gary Andrews said that it’s about time something has been implemented for the benefit of the bettor.

He said, “This is a great thing…a breath of fresh air for us. If a Pick-4 pool pays an extra $500 to the winners, that offers extra chances to stay alive longer and play other races. I love it!”

The track offers racing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday nights with a 7:05 p.m. post time.
