‘First Responder Night/Family Fun Night’ set for Aug. 23 at The Meadows

Washington, PA — “First Responder Night,” presented by The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association and The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, to honor the region’s first responders and provide a fun evening at the races for them and their families, is set for Friday (Aug. 23).

All first responders in uniform or with appropriate ID will receive betting vouchers and free programs when they visit the MSOA table in the Racebook. In addition, Friday’s live card, which begins at the special post time of 5:30 p.m., will include a first responder match race, with participants drawn by lot.

The evening also will feature “Family Fun Night” activities that include a bounce house, a balloon artist and a face painter.

The Aug. 23 card is highlighted by a pair of stakes for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers — a $165,000 (est.) Pennsylvania Sires Stake and a $60,000 (est.) PA Stallion Series event.
