Five O’Clock Cindy dies

Columbus, OH — Five O’Clock Cindy, the dam of 10 including two-time Pacer of the Year Jenna’s Beach Boy, died Feb. 25 at the age of 23 at Kentucky’s Peninsula Farm.

The Cam Fella-Eyewash mare, owned by L&L DeVisser LLC, struck gold with her first foal in 1992, the Beach Towel son Jenna’s Beach Boy. He earned nearly $2 million and set a world record with his mark of 1:47.3 as a 4-year-old in 1996. He captured Pacer of the Year titles during his sophomore campaign in 1995 and again in 1996.

Five O’Clock Cindy was the also the dam of Duca p,1:51.2f ($337,550); Desirable Cindy p,3,1:52.3 ($171,664) and Hot Shot Michelle p,4,1:50.3 ($133,725).

Her final foal, Friday At Five (by Real Desire) is a yearling in 2010.
