Florida golf event set for January 13

Pompano Beach, FL — Perry’s Tack Shop and horseman Fred Grant are teaming up to present a golf outing to benefit the Standardbred Retirement Foundation at Palm Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach, Fla., on Friday, January 13. The Unicorn Foundation, led by Mike Freibert of Bluegrass Staking and Ute Nolan, has donated $5,000 to be primary sponsor of the event.

The outing, on the Oaks Course, is open to all; non-golfers are welcome to attend the dinner following golf. The price for golf, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, is $125, including dinner. Those who’d like to attend dinner only can do so for $30. An auction will be held at the dinner, featuring a Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh Penguins jersey, signed by him and sold with a letter of authenticity, as well as a raffle. Those who cannot attend, but would like to support the event, may wish to provide a sponsorship; options to do so start at $150.

“We are very grateful to the Unicorn Foundation for stepping up to be our primary sponsor,” said Fred Grant. “There are many Standardbreds capable of a new career, but needing help to get there. This donation gives us a great head start in providing that help.”

For more information, to attend or sponsor, contact Greg or Lorraine Perry at their shop on the Pompano Park backstretch, perrystackinc@yahoo.com, 954.972.9338 or 954.478.7970 or Fred Grant at Sunshine Meadows, grantfcg@aol.com, 954.683.8391.
