Florida Senate Appropriations committee postpones hearing on ‘decoupling’ bill

Columbus, OH — The Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Florida Senate Appropriations committee heard 29 bills in total on Tuesday (March 1), but not legislation that would permit Florida’s horse and dog tracks to decouple those activities from their slot machines and card room licenses.
Senate Appropriations Chair Tom Lee, R-Brandon, said the bill was being postponed and didn’t say whether it would return. While he wouldn’t say the bill was officially dead, other committee members say its return was unlikely.
