London, OH — It is the 128th annual Madison County Fair and there’s Ohio homespun harness racing on Saturday (July 8) and Sunday (July 9).
While Saturday has a 12 noon post time, the fair is not officially open, so admission to the grounds is free. Saturday features Ohio-bred 2- and 3-year-old filly pacers and trotters as well as – appropriate enough – The Ohio Ladies Pace. There are numerous female drivers and trainers in the Ohio Fair Racing Conference and these very competitive and talented gals will line up behind the gate for yet another battle.
Along with all the rides, amusements, and treats Sunday’s 12 noon racing showcases homespun Ohio-bred 2- and 3-year-old colt pacers and trotters as well as the William “Doc” McMillen Memorial Open Pace.
There might be another Ohio champion in the making such as this year’s top-rated 3-year-old in North America Fear The Dragon, driven and trained by two native sons of the Buckeye State in David Miller and Brian Brown. So come on in, pick and bet your favorites, or maybe just rely on your “hunches” as grandstand admission is free and open to all.
Post time on both days for the first race is at 12 noon.
