Fred’s Nightmare scary good in Open Pace at Northville Saturday

Northville, MI – The $9,500 Open Pace highlighted the second day of Breeders’ Cup weekend and the Saturday night (Nov. 4) program at The Ville with Fred’s Nightmare (Fred and Ginger – Nightlife) and driver Drew Neill storming home to win by 6-1/2 lengths in 1:54.1.

Executive Dash N and Don Harmon as well as Coalford Bythesea and Justin Irvine left hard for the early lead with Fred’s Nightmare settling into third. Neill made a quarter move to the lead and Fred’s Nightmare set fractions of :27.2, :56.2, 1:25 to three-quarters then opened up on the field to win by open lengths stopping the timer in 1:54.1. Photo finish couldn’t separate the pair of Executive Dash N and Southwind Amazon for place as they dead-heated.

For Fred’s Nightmare, it was the 19th career win for the 6-year-old gelding. He is owned by Tactical Advantage Stable and trained by Becky Zubkoff.

Driver Art McIlmurray had a driving hat trick on the night and Marc St Louis, Jr. and Drew Neill had driving doubles. Trainer Becky Zubkoff had a training double as well.
