Freshman colt pacers completed first leg of Buckeye Stallion Series

Grove City, OH – The first leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for two-year-old colt pacer was completed Wednesday (July 13) afternoon at MGM Northfield Park. A total of six division went to the gate with each carrying a purse of $17,500.

In the first division which was held Monday night, Master Confection with Billy Davis Jr. went to the lead and never looked back, winning by three-lengths in 1:54.4. Clair Umholtz trains the son of Western Vintage. It was Master Confection’s first win in three starts.

Alfred Hanover finished second with Mossy’s Dragon third.

Stallion Series action resumed Wednesday afternoon with five non-betting divisions on a sloppy track.

In the second division, Boardwalk Jack took the pocket trip until the final turn when Hunter Myers pulled the Downbytheseaside colt and roared past the leader, Somewhere Vintage who broke stride, to win by five-lengths. The Ron Burke trainee covered the mile in 1:57.1 for his first win of the year.

Dude In Paradise was second with Low Rider finishing third.

Rose Run Yannick and Don Irvine Jr. raced to the lead in the third division but had to fight off a late charge from Highly Requested and Kayne Kaufman around the final turn to win by a length in 1:55.4. Jeff Nisonger trains the Western Vintage colt who was a winner for the first time. Mcland finished third.

In the fourth division, Dragon Grad and Chris Lems rallied down the stretch to catch Tt Jericho at the wire to win in 1:57.4. Dragon Grad has won both of his starts this year for trainer Steve Carter. Glimpse Of Victory finished third.

Primary Driver and Brady Galliers made it look easy, grabbing the lead and cruising to a 6 ¾ length victory. Galliers trains the son Fear The Dragon who earned his first victory in three starts.

Get It Wright was second with Victor Cruise third.

In the final division, Barley Mischievous and Kurt Sugg went gate to wire in 1:56.4 to win by a length and a quarter. Edward Miller trains the Charley Barley colt who is three for three this year.

Monaco Hanover and Hesa Bully rounded out the top three.

Buckeye Stallion Series action continues Wednesday July 20th at the Crawford County Fair in Bucyrus, Ohio when freshman colt trotters take to the track.
