Northfield, OH – Freshman filly trotters were on display on Monday (July 21) at MGM Northfield Park as the stars of tomorrow continued their trek to the Scarlett and Gray end-of-year championships.
In the first of six Buckeye Stallion Series division, Judy’s Moni (Anthony MacDonald) survived an inquiry to make her record 2-for-2 to kick off her young career.
With several breakers including Mockingbird As (Dan Noble) from the rail, it allowed Judy’s Moni (Ready For Moni-Reining Flowers) to gain control early.

After clearing rivals, Judy’s Moni was a headstrong leader at the quarter in :30.2.
The field, in straight alignment, got to the half in 1:01.3 and the race was on from there.
Longshot Chip Shot (Justin Irvine) was flushed out by Mockingbird As who got back into the race after an early miscue, and the pair began to apply pressure to Judy’s Moni up the backstretch.
At three-quarters in 1:31.1, Judy’s Moni and Chip Shot dueled, but when MacDonald asked Judy’s Moni to roll, roll is what she did.
Judy’s Moni drew off in the stretch to win by four lengths in 1:59.4. Mockinbrid As rallied to be second, while Rose Run Bridget (Trevor Smith) closed to be third.
Owned by Thestable Judys Moni, and trained by Jason McGinnis, the filly pushed her career earnings to $20,000.
In the second division, Til The End As (Noble) lived up to the 1-9 promise winning impressively in 2:00.2.
Off The Rails (Justin Irvine) left alertly from the outside, with Betsyann (Trevor Smith) and Go Get The Moni (Rosy Weaver) put into play entering the first turn.
While Off The Rails was taken wide into the turn and settled into fourth, Betsyann was able to defend pylon position momentarily, but entering the backstretch, Go Get The Moni would clear before the quarter in :29.1.
Coming to the half in 1:00.4, there was a battle brewing for the lead as Meghans Lucky Day (Anthony MacDonald) was sent to the outside with Til The End As (Guardian Angel As-Tilmylastday As) three-wide.
Entering the clubhouse turn for the final time, Til The End As made the front, with Meghans Lucky Day breathing down her neck.
At the three-quarters in 1:30.3, Noble stepped on the gas and Til The End As sprinted away from her rivals, cruising through the stretch to win by an easy four lengths.
The 2-year-old homebred is owned by ACL Stuteri AB and trained by Anette Lorentzon. It was the first victory of her career, and she now has earnings of $15,000.
Team Lorentzon wasn’t done yet as they scored yet another victory in the Buckeye Stallion Series with Joyofmylife As in the third division.

Joyofmylife As (Dan Noble) and Jolene Hall (Anthony MacDonald) left together entering the first turn.
Midway through the turn Joyofmylife As (Guardian Angel As-Josie’s Joy) worked her way to the front as Noble cut the mile before the quarter in :29.2.
With the field in straight alignment at the half in 1:00.4, Man I’m Sassy (Trevor Smith) began a first-over bid for the lead with Tom’s Crazy Peach (Chris Lems) on her back with one lap to go.
Entering the backstretch Joyofmylife As created some separation from her foes and at three-quarters in 1:30.3 looked strong on the lead.
Turning for home, Joyofmylife As was confidently handled by Noble as she won by three-quarters of a length in 2:00.1.
Owned by ACL Stuteri AB and Kjell Johansson, the Lorentzon trainee remains undefeated with purse earnings of $20,000.
Vernon Beachy, who campaigned Dan Patch 3-year-old trotting filly of the year Allegiant, trained Dublins Breanna to victory in the night’s fourth division.
Dublins Breanna (Austin Hanners), Steph’s Hope (MacDonald), and Moon Dancin (Irvine) all tussled for position into the first turn, but Moon Dancin, who was three-wide into the turn, went off stride.
Entering the backstretch, Dublins Breanna cleared the lead with Steph’s Hope settling into the pocket before the quarter in :29.1.
As the field entered the far turn for the first time, Lindy Princess (Aaron Merriman) worked her way to the lead.
Virtually unchallenged Lindy Princess got to the half in :59.1 and three-quarters in 1:28.3 but turning into the stretch Lindy Princess shied from something allowing Dublins Breanna (Enterprise-Brimfull) to inherit the lead and earn an easy victory.
Owned by 518 Group LLC and Ryan Smith, Dublins Breanna broke her maiden on Monday and pushed her career earnings to $11,000.

Kurt Sugg and Daren Harvey teamed up with longshot Triumphant Times to score in the fifth division of the Buckeye Stallion Series.
Aunt Sara (MacDonald) decided she would not be beaten to the first turn this week, so MacDonald sent her to the lead clearing rivals through the first eighth of a mile.
The lead, however, was short lived as Aunt Sara made a break entering the backstretch allowing Triumphant Times (Triumphant Caviar-Like Old Times) to inherit the lead. Her lead was also short lived as the race saw its third lead change with Chasingstardust As (Noble) clearing before the :30 opening quarter.
Chasingstardust As led through a :59.4 half and arrived at three-quarters in 1:30. Turning for home Triumphant Times tipped out of the pocket and dueled with the leader.
Into the stretch Triumphant Times surged defeating Chasingstardust As by a nose in 1:59.4.
Owned by Wayne Mast Jr., Callam Racing LLC, and Steven Miller, the 2-year-old filly broke her maiden in her first career pari-mutuel start.
In the final division of the Buckeye Stallion Series, Hangtighthoney L (Hank LeVan) earned her sixth straight victory with a powerful performance.
Several horses left off the wings, but Hangtighthoney L (In Range-Mother Lin) and Cast No Stones (Merriman) were quickest into stride.
Merriman cleared with Cast No Stones, but as they got to the quarter in :30.2, Hangtighthoney L was back out of the pocket looking for more, working her way to the front once again.
At half in 1:01.4, RG’s Rhapsody (Noble) was sent to the outside with Seven Lick Range (Kurt Sugg) on her back second-over.
The pair dueled through much of the backstretch for the final time, but at the three-quarters in 1:30.4, Hangtighthoney L put away RG’s Rhapsody and only had Cast No Stones to deal with on her back.
Through the stretch, Hangtighthoney L kicked clear winning by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:59.4.
Owned by LeVan Stables, Darmofal Racing, Hurley Racing, and Megan Levan the Hank LeVan trainee pushed her career earnings to $31,099.
Live racing resumes on Wednesday (July 23) at MGM Northfield Park at 6 p.m. (EDT).
