Dover, DE — Fruit Snacker parlayed back-to-back wins in the Winners Over/Select Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 24).
Last Glow and Fruit Snacker left quickest off the gate trotting into the first turn. Last Glow and driver Jack Parker Jr. accepted a pocket trip after being parked the mile last week by Fruit Snacker and driver Tony Morgan.
Fruit Snacker was breathing fire, setting early fractions of :27.4 and :57.
Arrowhead Hanover moved first-over from third past the half and up the backstretch. A Blue Million was carried into contention second-over while Speed Away shadowed third-over and Last Glow drafted in the pocket.
Fruit Snacker and Arrowhead Hanover were on even terms reaching three-quarters in 1:25. Turning for home, Fruit Snacker became a dominant force and drew off to win by a well measured half length in a lifetime best 1:53.2.
Arrowhead Hanover raced well but finished second. Last Glow remained in the pocket and finished third.
Fruit Snacker is owned by Mark Howard, trained by Will Reynolds and was driven by Tony Morgan.
The feature race on Wednesday (Feb. 25) $20,000 Mares Winners Over/Select Pace, carded as race 10. Jett Propelled attempts to record back-to-back wins in the event.
