Fryeburg, ME – The action at Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic, the historic Fryeburg Fair, will ratchet up to crescendo levels beginning on Tuesday (Oct. 6), as harness racing will take center stage among the afternoon fairground offerings, featuring daily post times of 1:30 p.m. (EDT) throughout the much anticipated six-day meeting.

“The entry box has been extremely encouraging with 11-races already carded for Tuesday (Oct. 6), 14-races for Wednesday (Oct. 7), and with full, competitive fields all the way up and down the program the betting opportunities should be prime,” said Kim Pike, Fryeburg’s director of racing. “The stables are overflowing with horses, the foliage is currently rated at peak, the weather is forecast to provide perfect Maine Fall conditions, and everyone is excited about returning to the Fryeburg Fair.”
The Fryeburg grandstand, capable of seating over 3,000 fans, will be at standing room only capacity throughout the week with the trackside apron, reserved box seats, adjacent picnic area, and infield viewing areas also open to accommodate the throngs of enthusiastic fans as they gather to watch and wager on the finely crafted harness racing cards to be offered at the fairground meet.
Tuesday is Senior Citizens Day at Fryeburg with attendees age 65-and-older afforded free admission to the fair. They will be treated an 11-race program filled with full, competitive fields, enhanced by an updated wagering menu that will certainly test the punters on opening day.
$1 quinella, $1 exacta, and 50 cent trifecta wagering will be augmented by three daily double wagers, 20 cent superfecta wagering on eight-horse fields, a 50 cent Pick-5 (races 1-5), a 50 cent Pick-4 (races 8-11), a 50 cent Pick-3 (races 9-11), and a 20 cent pentafecta on race 11.
Maine Sire Stakes racing will headline the cards during the mid-week programs as the sophomore set of the Maine-bred scene embark on their last opportunity to earn valuable standing in their final elimination legs of the 2026 season. Racing for purses in excess of $17,000 per dash, the colt pacers take center stage on Wednesday in a pair of non-wagering events set for an early 12:30 p.m. post time. The sophomore fillies will then frolic at Fryeburg on Thursday (Oct. 8), followed by the trotting classes who will invade the oval on Friday (Oct. 9).
The highlight of the weeklong meet will be the $15,000 renewal of the Mountain Skipper Invitational, which is set to be contested on Saturday (Oct. 10) as top pacers from around the northeast gather at the western-Maine venue in a quest to best Fryeburg’s 1:53.3 track record.
