Middletown, DE – The Grand Circuit hosted 17 events over the weekend from Pittsburgh, PA to East Rutherford, NJ.
In Pennsylvania at The Meadows, the feature was the Grade 1 Delvin Miller Adios and six other events including the Grade 3 Mickey Burke Adioo Volo and Arden Downs events for 2-year-olds.
In New Jersey at The Meadowlands, there were 10 events highlighted by the Grade 1 Hambletonian and Hambletonian Oaks eliminations along with a leg of the Ms. Versatility and three Tompkins-Geers races for 3-year olds.
This weekend (Aug. 1-3) is the one everyone has been anticipating. The 100th anniversary of the Hambletonian, which leads off Friday night (Aug. 1) with a gala and “Kindergarten” events (2nd Leg) for 2-year-olds.
Saturday (Aug. 2) is the big day with eight Grand Circuit events highlighted by the Grade 1 Hambletonian, presented by FanDuel, and Hambletonian Oaks for 3-year old trotters.
Fans are invited to spend the day and enjoy a Shanky’s Pineapple Whip, the signature drink, or a Ghost Hawk Brewing Trotter’s Gold beer in a souvenir can.
In the driver category, Dexter Dunn has nosed ahead of Jason Bartlett while Ron Burke is on top in the trainer column. Owners are still led by the appropriately named stable of Determination.
