Winona, MN — The first yearling crop of sire Gulf Shores led the way for pacing sires at the 2025 Heartland Standardbred Sale, held Tuesday (Sept. 23). The sale saw 16 yearlings sired by the son of Downbytheseaside go through the ring.
Leading the way was Lady Gulf, topping the sale at a final bid of $50,000. The price tied the record for the highest priced Standardbred yearling sold at auction in Minnesota. The dual-eligible (Minnesota and Kentucky) filly is the first foal from KJ’s Foxy Lady p,3,1:55.1h; 1:52.1h ($440,342) and was consigned by Pedigree Point Stables of Indiana.

The 16 Gulf Shores yearlings averaged just over $12,000, over six times the stallion’s published 2023 stud fee.
Gulf Shores will again stand in Minnesota in 2026 at Bluff Country Equine for a fee of $2,000.
