Cranbury, NJ — The Hambletonian, the richest and most coveted prize in harness racing, gets the star treatment on the next episode of Trotters & Pacers, a Standardbred series that airs weekly on TVG.

The 30-minute program begins airing on Monday, September 29, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) and is repeated throughout the week.

The fresh look at an 83-year-old classic features the international allure of trotting’s greatest prize, the tradition that Hambletonian Day at The Meadowlands has become for fans, and examines the quest to reach the Hambletonian winner’s circle by drivers, trainers and owners.

The storied history of the Hambletonian will be revisited, and Harry Harvey, winner of the 1953 edition behind Helicopter, shares how it felt to beat his mentor and former boss, Tom Berry, down the stretch of Goshen’s historic kite-shaped track.

This year’s popular Hambletonian-winning team of Ray Schnittker and Deweycheatumnhowe provide an inside look at the emotions and effort involved in their quest for harness racing’s Holy Grail, the Hambletonian Trophy.

The series is produced by Vigilante Films and has been financed by multiple stakeholders in the harness racing industry, including the Hambletonian Society.

Award-winning broadcaster Gary Seibel, long-time host of the Hambletonian on NBC and CBS, anchors the show. Seibel has been TVG’s expert harness racing analyst as well as a key host for all breeds of racing.

Trotters & Pacers broadcast schedule on TVG — Hambletonian episode: Mondays at 9:30 a.m. (EDT); Tuesdays at 1:00 a.m. (EDT); Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. (EDT); and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. (EDT).
