East Rutherford, NJ — The second Hambletonian Future Wager is now closed and the results indicate increased interest. The handle of $13,342 nearly doubled the $6,991 bet on Future Wager No. 1.
Six Pack, off his world record effort in the Stanley Dancer Memorial, was made the favorite at odds of 9-5 when wagering closed at 10 p.m. on Sunday (July 22). The recently announced filly entrant Atlanta came away as the second choice at 3-1 and Wolfgang was third choice at 6-1.
The mutuel field (all others) was a 5-2 favorite in the first pool but closed at 24-1 in the second pool.

The mutuel field consists of all horses not listed as 1-14 above that are eligible to the 93rd Hambletonian, including all fillies eligible to the Oaks.
The minimum future wager was $1 and all future wagers are win wagering only. The winner of each pool will be determined by the official first-place finisher in the 2018 Hambletonian.
The final Hambletonian Future Wager, Pool No. 3, will open Wednesday (Aug. 1) at noon and closes on Hambletonian Eve (Friday, Aug. 3) at 10 p.m. Wagering will be available at racetrack and online sites throughout North America.
