Monroe, WI — The Green County Fair is aiming to please their loyal fair going fans by rescheduling the harness races that were originally to be contested on Sunday (July 24), the fair’s closing day.
Due to over four inches of rain, the races were canceled as the dirt track was deemed unfit to race by the scheduled time. This marks four out of the last five years that harness racing has been canceled at the Green County Fair due to heavy rains.
The makeup date for the races will be Sunday (August 14) at 1 p.m. (CDT).
“We are very lucky to have a cooperative fair board in Green County,” stated WHHA President, Gabe Wand, of Platteville, Wis. “They truly recognize the fan base harness racing has in this part of the state and are doing whatever they can to help quench these fans’ harness racing thirst. We are very thankful to them for taking the initiative to reschedule their race date.”
Please come out and support harness racing and the Green County Fair Association for sponsoring the races even though it is not during their fair week.
