by Jessica Schroeder, assistant fair liaison, the U.S. Trotting Association

Columbus, OH — Harness racing, along with T-shirt tosses and other fun activities, takes center stage at the Fowlerville County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, September 1. Racing starts at 12 noon at the fairgrounds at 8880 W. Grand River Road in Fowlerville, Michigan.

In between races for Michigan-bred colts and fillies, drivers will toss 150 T-shirts into the grandstand. There will also be Pick A Winner contests for each race with prizes like $50 gas cards, Hungry Howie gift cards, flowers, dinner at local diners, free oil changes, an American flag (presented by State Representative Cindy Denby) and much more.

Each race will offer starting car rides for two persons to enjoy a view just inches from the horses as they start their race.

Admission to the races is free for all.

Racing fans will be able to meet and greet the drivers and get their autographs on the T-shirts or race programs. Races on inflatable bouncy ponies will be held between fair board members and the harness drivers.
