Harrington, DE – Harrington Raceway’s 68-day race meet will commence Monday night (April 13) with a 14-race program. First post time is 4:30 p.m. (EDT).
Last year’s leading trainer, Joe Columbo, and driver, Montrell Teague, will have a busy return to Harrington, with Columbo having eight starts on the program and Teague appearing in seven races.
The featured race is the sixth, a $22,500 Open Pace, featuring a full field. Evm Racing’s Wehadababyetzaboy (5-2, driver Art Stafford Jr.) is the morning-line favorite with a pair of Harrington stalwarts among the top contenders, including Rich Ashley and Michael Cain’s Steven’s Saloon (7-2, Jason Thompson), who closed out the Bally’s Dover meet with a 1:50.1 triumph, and Tlb Racing’s Captaincountrystar (7-1, Pat Berry), who won last year’s $50,000 Governor’s Cup. The field is plenty deep with 55-time winner Proper One (12-1, Cody Poliseno), Primo Maschio (7-2, Jason Green), Rocknroll Lou (8-1, Teague), T Dog (8-1, Russell Foster, and Wager On Me (12-1, Mike Cole) completing the field.
On the wagering front, there will be a pair of Pick-4 sequences, starting in race 2 nightly and the last four races on the card. Superfectas will be available in most races with full fields and both the latter and Pick-4 bets come with a 50-cent base wager.
Murphy’s Race/Sports Book and Grill will have dining and drink specials on live racing nights, where food may be ordered and enjoyed in the simulcast/sports book area, or trackside in the clubhouse.
Live racing will be conducted on a Monday through Wednesday schedule through the spring until the summer break on July 8.
