The event is the second annual held at Harrington Raceway. Last year’s inaugural fundraiser produced one of its most successful for the Kent County SPCA for most pet food donations at a one-day event with more than 7,000 pounds and $11,000 in donations.

Representatives from the SPCA will be at the track that night, on the first floor grandstand lobby, with pets looking for a forever home. Starting at 6 p.m., Mrs. Harrington and host of popular local television show “Post Time,” (Heather Moffett) will sign free photos in that area.

Racing fans are encouraged to visit the pets seeking a home and to bring along pet food or a pet food gift card for donation to the shelter. For each bag, box, can or gift card, fans get an entry in a drawing for BONZ, Harrington’s luxury restaurant. Second prize is a ride in the track’s starting gate, for a rare view of the races. Additional prizes are expected to be added closer to the event.
