Helen Ross, 90, dies

Columbus, OH — Helen L. Ross, 90, of Palestine, Ohio, died March 29, 2013.

She was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Oxford, Wis., to the late Neal and Mildred (Cummings) Houslet.

Mrs. Ross was a retired school teacher and raised Standardbreds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville and the Darke County Harness Horsemen’s Association. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Rachel (Bryan) Duncan; grandson, Aaron Ross; great-grandchildren, Evan Duncan and Chelsea Duncan; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Schultz; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Ross on August 4, 2001; son, Jim Ross; brother, Neal Houslet; and sisters, Maxine Houslet and Beth Roney.
