Hennessey wins four including feature at Tioga

Nichols, NY – Wally Hennessey drove four winners at Tioga Downs on Monday (Sept. 5). Hennessey and Prairie Panther ($3.60) captured the $15,000 Open Pace.

Machiatto A (Mike Simons) grabbed the early lead but Prairie Panther zoomed right on by and led to the first quarter in :27.3. He used a :28.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.2. Scootnroll (Jeff Long) made a first-over move but stalled as they headed for the final turn. Prairie Fortune was first to three-quarters in 1:24.1.

As they reached the stretch Machiatto A pulled out of the pocket and went all out after Prairie Panther. Prairie Panther let out another notch and won easily in 1:51.4. Machiatto A had to settle for second. Luciano N (Brandon Parker) finished third.

Prairie Panther is an 8-year-old gelding by Royal Millennium. He is owned by Joel Warner and trainer Mike Deters. It was his 12th win this season. He now owns 59 career victories.

Hennessey got his other wins with Airy Shadow ($11.40), Cowboy Cool ($2.60), and Harry Terror ($3.50). Jim McDonald had a training double on the day.

Tioga Downs returns to Live racing on Friday (Sept. 9) starting at 6:15 p.m.
