Napoleon, OH — The Henry County Fair at Napoleon, Ohio, opened its two-day meet on Tuesday evening (August 16). Eight harness horse races and four Trottingbred races made up the 12-race program.
Joe Ewald’s Lima Silk (Ilooklikemymom-Shesha) captured the first division of the 3-year-old filly trot in 2:07. Ryan Stahl did the driving with Greg Straub handling the training chores. The other split went to Trottin Brooke (Pegasus Spur-Bueno Sahbra) in 2:09.4. Skip Miller pays the bills on Trottin Brooke with Gary Gilliland doing the training and Mark Headworth providing the driving services.
Frisky’s Melody (Feelin Friskie-Reynosa Hanover) took the 2-year-old filly pace in 2:07.2. Ryan Stahl and Jerry Metter are the co-owners of the filly with Stahl doing the driving and Greg Straub doing the training.
Rodney Conner steered Tata’s Flash (Memphis Flash-Matata) to victory in the 2-year-old colt pace. Bob Figgins and Pam and Michelle Riedeman own Tata’s Flash with Barbie Conner doing the conditioning. The gelding toured the Napoleon oval in 2:09.
Emil Konesky’s Nanner (Ilooklikemymom-Canaco Marlena) found the winner’s circle in the 3-year-old colt trot after a mile in 2:06. Mark Headworth is the trainer-driver of Nanner.
Harness racing concludes Wednesday evening (August 17) at the Henry County Fair with a nine-race program. Post time for the first race is 6:30 p.m.
