Henry County Fair meet opens

Napoleon, OH — The Henry County Fair at Napoleon, Ohio, opened up its two-day meet with a 14-race card on Tuesday night (Aug. 14). The program consisted of eight harness races and six Trottingbred races.

Countonme (Full Count-Indian Hill Ruby) took the 3-year-old filly trot in 2:11.2. John Konesky III trains and drives the filly and also co-owns her with his son Patrick.

Bill Webb’s Mean Fever (Indian Fever-Mean Geraldine) remained undefeated after eight starts by capturing the 2-year-old filly pace in 2:09.1. Webb also trains the filly with Mark Headworth performing the driving duties.

Trottin On Over (Neely Dunn-Halle Coy) found the winner’s circle after capturing the 3-year-old colt trot in 2:03.2. Mark Headworth trains and drives the gelding with Emil Konesky picking up the expenses.

Jerry Lighthill guided Kenneth G (Scallion Hanover-Our Lady Countess) to a win in the 2-year-old colt pace. Dale Leu owns the gelding with Ray Sugg doing the training. Kenneth G toured the Napoleon oval in 2:12.

Harness racing continues Wednesday night (Aug. 14) with nine races on the card. Post time for the first race will be 6:30 p.m.
