Heston Blue Chip was the winner of the USHWA Dan Patch Award for 3-year-old pacing colts against a tough crop that included A Rocknroll Dance, Bettor’s Edge, Michael’s Power, Sweet Lou and Thinking Out Loud.
At 3, Heston Blue Chip was the winner of the Breeders Crown elimination and final (1:49.2). As the favorite in the final, he beat Bettor’s Edge, Michael’s Power, Sweet Lou and Thinking Out Loud.
His 3-year-old accolades also include winning the Cane Pace elimination, Empire Breeders Classic elimination and final (1:48.4), Historic (1:49.2), Matron final (lifetime best 1:48), Meadowlands Pace elimination, four New York Sire Stakes legs, Progress Pace elimination (1:49.3, last quarter :26.3) and final (1:49).
Heston Blue Chip set Tioga Downs track and divisional records of 1:49.2 and 1:48.4, and Dover Downs, where he earned his lifetime best of 1:48.
Bred for success, Heston Blue Chip is sired by the legendary American Ideal. He is a full brother to Sunfire Blue Chip p,3,1:48.3f ($1,626,773) and a half brother to Carbine, p,1:47.4s-’23 ($666,414).
