Hi Sir wins Rosecroft Open

Ft. Washington, MD — Rain and a sloppy track did not slow the action on Tuesday night (Oct. 13) at Rosecroft Raceway.

Russell Foster scored a driving double and took the $12,500 Open Pace with Hi Sir.

Foster tipped Hi Sir out just before the half and completed the first over journey to victory in 1:51.4. Tom’s Titan (Jonathan Roberts) was second, while Jet Blue Miracle (Sean Bier) was third.

Varsity Hanover scored an 11-1 upset win in the Open 2 for pacers, stopping the timer in 1:52.3. Parked through a :26.3 first quarter, Donald Dancer pressed on and cleared to the lead at the finish line the first time. Bridge Jumper (Bier) was second and Arpeggio Hanover (Foster) was third.

John Duer steered Deadliest Catch to a win from post eight in the winners over trot in 1:56. Classic Filly (Roberts) was second, while Fashion Smile (Roger Plante) was third.

Foster, Dancer, Roberts, Frank Milby and Jared Moyer all won two races on the night.
