Hoorayforvacation gets second straight series win at The Meadows

Washington, PA — Hoorayforvacation erased a 6-1/2 length deficit with a determined uncovered bid and went on to capture his second straight split in the Sir Caviar Trot at The Meadows. Bob And Bobby and Keystone Wyatt also took $15,000 second leg divisions Monday in the series for 3-year-old colts and geldings.

Hoorayforvacation, who won his opening leg split in wire-to-wire fashion, did appear to be on vacation until Dan Charlino tipped him off the cones and sent him from fifth. He collared the leader, Upfront Billy, around the final turn and downed that rival by three-quarters of a length in a career-best 1:57.4. Lucky Yim was a ground-saving third.

Joelene Christman trains the Chip Chip Hooray-Vacation Creation gelding, who has won three of his last four starts, and owns with Mark Christman.

Tony Hall drove three winners on the 15-race card.
