Hoosier Shark upsets at Tioga

Nichols, NY — Hoosier Shark (Braxton Boyd) was an upset winner in featured $5,500 pace at Tioga Downs paying $58.00 to win on Saturday (May 29).

Devisser (Mike Merton) led to the first quarter in :26.2.  Idealthecards (Corey Braden) took control as they went by the stands for the first time.  He led to the half in :55.4.  He started to shake loose down the backstretch and led to three-quarters in 1:24.1.

As they made the turn for home the 1-9 favorite Rousseau (Wally Hennessey) came first-up to challenge.  Hoosier Shark then made a sweeping three-wide move in the stretch and blew right on by to win in 1:53.3.  Rousseau finished second.  Yannick Seelster (Jody Jamieson) came up to finish third.

Hoosier Shark is a 3-year-old colt by Tellitlikeitus.  He is owned and trained by Boyd.  It was his second win this season and third career victory.

Boyd was also owner, trainer, and driver for a win with Roll To The Beach ($4.30).  Driver Jody Jamieson and trainer Blake Macintosh combine for two wins on the card.  They won with Black Tie Bash ($2.90) and Perfectboy Hanover ($7.90).

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (May 30) with a 9-race-card starting at 1:00 p.m.
