Hot Flash Kimmy repeats, earns lifetime mark in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Hot Flash Kimmy thwarted the challenge of stakes veteran Rose Run Yanae and captured Wednesday’s (Dec. 13) feature, her second straight win — at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 Conditioned Trot.

Hot Flash Kimmy emerged from an early scrum with a hotly contested lead but soon faced a threat from the first-up Rose Run Yanae, who in September won the Ohio Breeders Championship and finished second in the Ohio Sires Stake final. Hot Flash Kimmy responded to the urging of Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and turned back the challenger by three lengths in a career-best 1:54.4. Easy Rider rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains the winner, a 3-year-old daughter of Lookslikeachpndale-Hortop Temper, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Wrenn and Burke teamed for a pair of wins on the 13-race card while Brady Brown, Jeremy Indof, Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone also enjoyed doubles.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 13-race program features a trio of carryovers: $7,148.08 on the card’s first Superfecta; $2,629.47 in the Early Pentafecta (race 4); $829.06 in the Pick-5 (race 9). First post is 12:45 p.m.
