Washington, PA — Spanish Dream launched a huge uncovered move that carried her to victory in Wednesday’s (Jan. 5) Opening Day feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare conditioned pace.

Spanish Dream was fifth past the half when Jim Pantaleano sent her after the leader, Sweet Young Thing. The 8-year-old daughter of Dream Away-Latin Liftoff relentlessly wore down Sweet Young Thing and defeated her by a half length in 1:55. All Day Sunshine finished third.
Andy Rickert trains Spanish Dream, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $338,786, for Nichole Stahl.
Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone each enjoyed a double on the 10-race card.
