Dover, DE – I Did It Myway surged late from the pocket and won the Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday (Nov. 14) night.
Island Of The Sea left aggressively early, parking out ATS Hanover, I Did It Myway and Maximus Miki entering the quarter pole. Tim Tetrick and I Did It Myway grinded up to the lead passing the opening quarter in :26.4. Maximus Miki, the 1/9 betting favorite, had to work hard and finally cleared the lead passing the half in :54 (:27.1).

Maximus Hanover maintained a comfortable lead up the backstretch. Mack moved first-up followed by Layton Hanover who was second-over on the rim. Sport Secret circled three-wide when the outside tear started to retreat approaching the three-quarter pole.
Maximus Miki was a confident leader and continued his charge at the three-quarters in 1:21.3 (:27.3).
I Did It Myway waited patiently along the pylons in the stretch and collared Maximus Miki on the wire. He won by a nose in 1:49.2 and paid $8.80 for the win.
I Did It Myway (Captaintreacherous) is owned by Hamm, EVM Racing LLC and Glenn Phillips all from Delaware. Tim Tetrick drove for trainer Nick Devita. Maximus Miki finished second. Sport Secret finished third.
Tim Tetrick won six races on the sixteen-race betting card. Nick Devita posted four training wins. His owners Hamm and Phillips also recorded four owning wins.
Entries will be accepted on Monday (Nov. 18) for those eligible to the Progress Pace Preview/ eliminations. The box closes at 11a.m.
