Lebanon, OH — I Did It Myway rallied from sixth to win the featured $36,000 Open Pace on Sunday (Feb. 22) at Miami Valley Raceway.
Leaving from post 2, I Did It Myway and Jeremy Smith tucked in fifth as the favorite Better Is Nice launched to the front in :27. As they moved towards the :56 half, Rose Run Zane pulled first-over, bringing along I Did It Myway into a second-over trip. As they passed the three-quarters in 1:24.1, I Did It Myway flipped three-wide and circled the leaders to open up an easy three-length lead by the head of the stretch. From there on, I Did It Myway cruised home to a two-length victory while stablemate Gem Qualitly closed for second. Alta Revelry N finished third.

The win was the second of the year for I Did It Myway and his 39th career tally, pushing his career earnings to just shy of $1.5 million.
Trainer Adam Short made a few trips to the winner’s circle, picking up three wins in the claiming ranks. Burnham Boy N took a $20,000 claimer, while Alwaysonetwomany A won a $12,500 claimer and General Idea upset in a $30,000 claimer.
