Vincennes, FR — The 7-year-old Idao de Tillard, trained by Thierry Duvaldestin and wth his son, Clement Duvaldestin in the bike, proved to be the strongest again this year, winning the Prix d’Amerique for the second year in a row at the Vincennes track in Paris.
Idao de Tillard delivered a strong effort, spending most of the race in the third lane, but was still the strongest in the run-up and won in 1:54.2 (mile rate) ahead of the 6-year-old mare Just Love You (Alexandre Abrivard), while the pre-favorite Go On Boy (Romain Derieux) took third place.
Swedish hope Sans Moteur (Björn Goop) was too hot before the start and a collision in the first start attempt didn’t help.
In a valid start, Sans Moteur set off in a canter.
Idao de Tillard, sired by Severino, is the sixth horse this century to win the Prix d’Amerique two years in a row.
Varenne did it in 2001 and 2002, Offshore Dream in 2007 and 2008, Ready Cash in 2011 and 2012, Bold Eagle in 2016 and 2017 and Face Time Bourbon in 2020 and 2021.
The first prize for Idao de Tillard was 450,000 Euros bringing his career earnings to 2,898,660 Euros.
