Indiana fair racing at Kendallville

Kendallville, IN — The Noble County Community Fair at Kendallville played host to Indiana Fair Circuit harness racing on Saturday (July 9). Fifteen races were contested on the midday program.

Martz Moonboy (Keystone Blitz-Martz Creek Bev) took the faster division of the 2-year-old colt trot in 2:14. Jay Cross piloted the colt for trainer Enos Lengacher with Wilker Family Farms paying the bills. The other split went to Trot Man Trot (Elegant Man-Fox Valley Flan) in 2:15.4. Jennifer Redmond conditions the colt for the partnership of Luther, Johnson, Voress and Menchhhofer with Tom Luther doing the driving.

The faster split of the 2-year-old filly trot went to Msladytab (Mr Cantab-Beldame Hanover) in 2:09. Marlin Ray Miller owns the filly with Curt Sumpter doing the training and Aaron Miller providing the driving services. The other division went in 2:09.2 with J-S Miss Carolyn (Big Stick Lindy-Carolyn’s Fortune) reaching the wire first. Jack Myers owns and trains the filly with Mike Peterson picking up the winning drive.

Anthony Gray’s Townline Master (Palone Ranger-Fox Valley Adios) captured the faster division of the 2-year-old colt pace in 2:04.4. Gray also trains the gelding with Odell Cross doing the driving. Matt Rheinheimer steered Down On Mainstreet (He’s Gorgeous-Main Street Madam) to a 2:11.4 winning time in the other split. Dean King is the gelding’s trainer with Funk Racing Stable picking up the expenses.

The combination of Jack Myers and Mike Peterson found the winner’s circle again in the faster split of the 2-year-old filly pace with J-S Jazzy Dancer (Allthatgltrsisgold-Jazzy Justice). Her winning time was 2:07.2. Trainer-driver Ron Beard guided KZ Kool Desire (Total Truth-Hot Desire) to victory in the other division in 2:08.4. Carol Houser is the owner of KZ Kool Desire.

Swan Handicap (Swan For All-Hetties Lavec) took the lone division of the three-year-old colt trot in 2:07.2. Matt Rheinheimer is the gelding’s owner/trainer/driver.

Tom Luther steered Miracle Cantab (Mr Cantab-Miracle Sprout) to the faster winning time in the 3-year-old filly trot. Miracle Cantab toured the Noble County twice-around in 2:08.2. Luther co-owns the filly with William Johnson and Tom Voress with Jennifer Redmond doing the conditioning. The other division went to Lets Run A Tab (Mr Cantab-Cookies N Milk) in 2:09.1. Odell Cross drove the filly for owner/trainer Lendon Lewis.

The combination of Tom Luther, William Johnson, Tom Voress, and Jennifer Redmond also picked up the faster split of the 3-year-old colt pace with Dali’s Cruzinradar (Dali-Bow Koo Bucks). The gelding’s winning time was 2:05. Lula Vucinaj’s JD’s Military Star (Shadyshark Hanover-Artistic Ideal) was the winner of the other division in 2:06.1. Jay Cross had the winning catch-drive on the gelding while Pasko Vucinaj does the training.

The partnership of Luther, Johnson, Voress, and Menchhofer picked up the winner’s check in the faster division of the 3-year-old filly pace with Destinies Ride (Rockin Image-Deal Offthe Bottom). Tom Luther and Jennifer Redmond were again the winning driver and trainer, respectively. Destinies Ride had a time of 2:05 over the Kendallville oval. The other split closed out the day’s race program with JD’s Lulla Bell (Panspacificflight-JD’s Superdividend) coming home first in 2:05.1. Jack Webb owns and trains the filly with Jay Cross having the winning drive.

Congratulations to the fair’s new speed superintendent Jeff Cunningham and race secretary Pam Cross along with other fair board members for putting on a great show. Also, a big thanks to Roy and Charlotte Stantz for running the popular “Pick the Winner” contest in the grandstand.

Action returns to the Indiana Fair Circuit on Tuesday (July 12) and Wednesday (July 13) at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Frankfort.

Tuesday’s racing gets underway at 3:00 p.m. while Wednesday’s card has a 7:00 p.m. post time.
