Belgium — The 7-year-old French gelding, Inexess Bleu, with Alexandre Abrivard, was back in the winner’s role on Saturday (Sept. 20) in the Grand Prix de Wallonie at the Mons track in Belgium.
Inexess Bleu had his winning streak of nine broken when he galloped in a race at La Capelle earlier this month, but on Saturday, it was the picture of confidence. After leading throughout, Inexess Bleu won Belgium’s biggest race, the Grand Prix de Wallonie, which has a purse of 150,000 Euros.
Josh Power, with Sebastian Ernault, who sat in the pocket behind Inexess Bleu, came close at the end when there was room to attack as Inexess Bleu drifted out.
In third place was the double Prix d’Amerique winner, Idao de Tillard, with Clement Duvaldestin, who looked like a threat to Inexess Bleu at the entrance to the home stretch but didn’t have enough strength to complete the attack.
Inexess Bleu, being a gelding, cannot compete in the major French races. He has now raced 52 times and won 34 victories.
