Humboldt, IA — With only a few weekends of racing left, the Iowa Harness Horsemen’s Association wrapped up yet another round of racing this past Saturday and Sunday in Humboldt, Iowa.

Saturday saw the Iowa Registered 2-year-olds and older Iowa pacers racing. Two horses captured new lifetime marks and one achieved her first career win.

Sexycaliber, a 2-year-old trotting filly, attained herself a new lifetime mark in 2:07.3. The filly was driven to the win by Aaron Mitchell who also owns part of the filly along with Lesa Peters.

The 4-year-old pacing mare Patty’s Princess, owned by Edmund Krapp, dropped her lifetime mark to 2:00.1. The big brown mare was driven to victory by Dan Roland.

Mark Mintun piloted the 2-year-old pacing filly Gabby to her first career win in 2:06.3. Gabby is owned by Ronald Emerson and Mark Holtan.

Along with these three standouts the race day also saw Duane Roland steer Roland N Rock to another win. Roland N Rock is a 2-year-old pacing colt out of the outstanding late stallion Rocknroll Hanover. Duane drove his colt to his 12th win of the season, making this colt a perfect 12-for-12 for his career.

Roland also captured three other driving wins on Saturday with 2-year-old pacing filly Cedar Wapsi Road and 2-year-old pacing colts DC’s Better Life and Bees Tothe Knees.

On Sunday Rick Huffman drove his 3-year-old trotting colt O’ Wow to his ninth win in just 11 starts this season. O’ Wow is also owned by Martha Walker.

The 19-year-old Cory Larson steered his parents (Kim and Brian Larson) 3-year-old pacing filly Boom Boom Shaboom to her sixth victory of the year in just nine starts.

In the older trot, 7-year-old mare Lipstickandshadow captured her first victory of 2014 in 2:03.2, driven by Dan Roland and owned by his wife Jeralene Roland.

Rob Anderson drove the 3-year-old pacing filly Insidedus Sidney, owned by Wilda McDanel, to her first win of 2014 on Sunday as well.

Stephanie Gould added a new horse to her stable this weekend by claiming 3-year-old trotting colt Awesome Some More in the 12th race Sunday. This is one of only three claims that have occurred in the Iowa racing circuit in 2014.

Racing continues for the Iowa Harness Horsemen’s Association next weekend (Sept. 20 and 21) in Humboldt. Good luck to all horsemen!
