Norway — Italian top trainer and driver Alessandro Gocciadoro dominated the card at the Jarlsberg track Norway where the prestigious Ulf Thoresen Grand International over 1-5/16 mile was the main event.
Gocciadoro was behind the 6-year-old trotter, Banderas Bi, who won by a length in 1.53.2f followed by Swedish trotter Power with Robert Bergh and Feydeau Seven of France with Magnus T. Gundersen.
Banderas Bi, who is sired by Ganymede, got the winner’s purse of 75,000 dollars.
A mile-event for mares, was also won by Alessandro Gocciadoro driving the Italian mare, Zeudi AMG, who won by open lengths in 1.51.3f.
Zeudi AMG is sired by Italian sire Ideale Luis and her dam is by Ganymede, the sire of Banderas Bi!
Ganymede, who is a French sire, bred by Jean Pierre Dubois, is no longer active breeding – his last crop is born in 2020.
