Harrington, DE- Elizabeth and Bret Brittingham’s Itsrockandroll A ($13.40, Allan Davis) was a 1:52.2 winner in the featured $18,000 Open Monday (May 5) at Harrington Raceway.

The 10-year-old A Rocknroll Dance gelding settled in fourth early when the gates folded before mounting a first-over assault against Hundred Dollar Man, last week’s winner, who cleared pacesetter Armada Hanover past the half-mile after a spirited early pace of :26.2 and :55.1.
After a three-quarters clocking of 1:23, Itsrockandroll A began to wear down the leader and held off a flurry of horses to the wire for his fourth win of the season. It was his 40th career win as he boosted his seasonal earnings over the $100,000 mark. The 2023 Delaware Valley Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association Harrington horse of the meet, and 2024 Bally’s Dover horse of the meet, has been a fixture in the Open ranks in Delaware the last few years for trainer Don Brittingham.
Earlier on the card, trainer Joe Hundertpfund Jr. won his 1,998th and 1,999th career race with Stevens Saloon ($2.20, Jason Thompson) and Brother Dick ($5, Davis). Davis had 3 wins on the card.
In the sub-featured $14,500 winners-over pace, Forrest Bartlett’s Iwannabewithyou ($3.20, Trae Porter) was a 1:52.2 winner for Walt Callahan, his second win in his last three starts.
Andrew Glassmeyer’s Southwind Mina ($5.60, Pat Berry) was the lone mare in a $25,000 claiming event and she successfully bested her male counterparts in 1:54.2 for her owner/trainer.
Trainer Nicky Ratledge continued her hot start to the meet, teaming up with driver Tony Morgan with a pair of wins with her trainees, Tyler Long’s Mr. Overbite ($5), who earned a repeat win in 1:55.1, as did Ratledge-owned Aiden Station ($2.20, Morgan).
Racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.).
