Jack Campbell, 80, dies

Cranbury, NJ — Jack Campbell, 80, a second generation horseman from Ailsa Craig, Ontario, and father of Hall of Fame driver John Campbell and trainer Jim Campbell, died on Monday (June 18) after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence; sons, John and Jim; daughter, Joanne McLinchey; and a large and loving extended family.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday (June 21) at T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home (519.293.3331), 171 Main St., Ailsa Craig, Ontario. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (June 22) at the Ailsa Craig Recreation Center, 155 Annie Ada Shipley in Ailsa Craig.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Ailsa Craig United Church, 156 Main, Ailsa Craig, ON, N0M 1A0 or to the charity of your choice.
