Columbus, OH — James V. Rice, 81, of Trenton, Ohio, died July 25, 2014.

For more than 20 years Mr. Rice was an owner and trainer of many Standardbreds, including Direct Ruler, Sunny Art, Darth Ruler and Kyle Ruler.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda; daughters, Beth (Dan) Marsh, Susie (Mike) Harris and Kristie (Bill) Miller; and grandchildren, Sarah, Scott, Jenny, Emily and Trevor.
