Port Perry, ON — Tara Hills Stud has announced that Jereme’s Jet, Canada’s fastest pacer at stud, will stand his first season in 2008 at the Port Perry, Ontario farm for the introductory stud fee of C$6,000.

Owned by Genesis Racing Stable, Jereme’s Jet p,3,1:48.1, 4,TT1:47 has a career record of 16 wins from 35 starts with $1,519,321 in earnings. He holds the title of the fastest and the second richest son of Western Hanover.

During his juvenile campaign, the son of Western Hanover, out of the Sportsmaster millionaire mare Ohyouprettything, scored victories in the $840,000 Metro Stakes final at Mohawk, the $593,032 Governor’s Cup Final at Woodbine and the $575,400 Breeders Crown Final at the Meadowlands.

As a 3-year-old, with the $100,000 Meadowlands Pace Consolation in 1:50.4 under his belt, he took a record of 1:48.1 to win the $50,000 Review Stakes with a staggering last quarter of :25.2 at Springfield, only to repeat a 1:48.1 performance in his very next start in the $48,000 Hayes Memorial Stakes at Du Quoin, Ill.

Jereme’s Jet paced the third fastest mile in harness racing history when he time-trialed in 1:47 for John Campbell at The Red Mile on September 29, 2007. The effort was a world record for a 4-year-old pacing stallion on a mile track. He cut splits of :27.2, :53.3 and 1:20.1. Sprinting home in :26.4, he stopped the clock in 1:47.

“We’re humbled to welcome a son of the late, great Western Hanover,” said David Heffering of Tara Hills Stud. “He’s a tremendous fit to our stallion roster and he offers incredible value to the Ontario breeder. We’re very happy to christen our new stallion barn with the addition of Jereme’s Jet.”
