LaGrange, IN — The first stud book for JK Endofanera p, 2, 1:51.4; 3, 1:48.2 ($2,049,580), who was retired from racing earlier this year, is full and closed.

A son of Art Major, the stallion is out of the Presidential Ball mare Presidential Lady. He is a full sibling to 2014 Horse of the Year JK She’salady and is a half-brother to New York Sire Stakes standout JK Fine Art (Art Major, $374,802).

JK Endofanera will stand his first season at stud in 2017 at Victory Hill Farm. He was bred and campaigned by the 3 Brothers Stable of Steven, Alan and Ron Katz. They sold a significant interest to a group comprised of the same principals who brought Always A Virgin to the Hoosier State.

“He’s an exceptional horse and we’re thrilled that he’s received so much support from significant breeders and will have a great start at stud,” said Bob Boni, a spokesperson for the stallion’s ownership group.

Trained by Ron Burke as a freshman and sophomore, then Jimmy Takter during his 4-year-old season, JK Endofanera beat every top colt of his generation. As a 2-year-old he won four of seven starts, among them the $534,500 Governor’s Cup at the Meadowlands, when he took his freshman mark of 1:51.4. As a 3-year-old, he captured the $1 million North America Cup, defeating a field that included He’s Watching and McWicked. In 2015, at age four, he captured the Dan Patch Invitational Pace at Hoosier Park by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:48.4, exploding past his rivals with a :26.2 final quarter-mile.
