Hazel Park, MI — Under a beautiful new moon on Monday (July 4), Kelly Walker and Intell On Broadway once again claimed the win in the Michigan amateur race in 2:00.2 at Hazel Park.

Close on his heels was Larry McCarty, hustling Little Ms Sunshine up for the place dough, and Mike Sweeney, driving Our April Love, scored for the show ticket.

In the closest competition yet this season, nine drivers broke from the gate in unison and headed for the gold, but Walker was first and fastest.

First away from the gate was Little Ms Sunshine who clocked the quarter in :28.1, followed by Our April Love on the outside and Smokin Steven in third. Little Ms Sunshine shone on at the half in :58.1 with Our April Love right behind her in second. Smokin Steven puffed away in third and Intell On Broadway loved that outside air and came on in fourth.

The same story was retold at the three-quarter pole when Little Ms Sunshine continued to lead in 1:29.1 and Intell On Broadway trotted up into third place. The pace quickened in the stretch as all nine drivers worked their best to move up.

But the victory belonged to Intell On Broadway and Walker as the camera flashed. The exciting, close finish highlighted an error free race and reflected the skill and determination of the nine amateurs.
