Chester, PA — The day after We Will See parlayed a pocket trip to a 1:48.4 victory in the $500,000 Ben Franklin Stakes, 3-year-old trotting fillies took center stage at Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack, with a trio of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes splits headlining the Monday (July 4) card.

Ron Pierce prevailed in two of the three splits, piloting Cedar Dove ($4.20) and Bold And Fresh ($8.80) to victory in their respective divisions. The Adam Victor and Son Stable and John Fielding’s Cedar Dove, a sophomore daughter of Andover Hall, rated an easy :58 half before dismissing the first-over challenge of Cantabulous at the head of the stretch. She then kicked clear to a 2-1/4 length victory over Action On George (Tim Tetrick) and the pocket-sitting My Minnie Chip (Dave Palone), winning in 1:55.1. Noel Daley trains Cedar Dove.

Donald Bartling’s Bold And Fresh tracked comfortably from the pocket in her division, allowing Love U Overandover to set the tempo. While the first-over Beatgoeson Hanover (David Miller) ratcheted up the pressure on Love U Overandover, Ron Pierce guided Bold And Fresh to the open stretch, prevailing by three-quarters of a length in 1:55. Beatgoeson Hanover held second, while Decolletage (Mike Lachance) took show honors. Doug Miller trains Bold And Fresh, a daughter of SJ’s Caviar.

Celebrity Katie ($5.60) was a pillar-to-post winner in her division, controlling a moderate tempo before holding off a three-wide rush from Pacific Splash (Charlie Norris) in the stretch, prevailing by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:55.4 under Brett Miller. Celebrity Farms and trainer Staffan Lind jointly own the daughter of SJ’s Caviar.
